MKDC

Bio

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, we bring high-energy, family-friendly K-pop stages to festivals, venues, and brand events across the US.

MKDC is a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based K-pop performance group founded on September 13, 2013. Our identity is rooted in the core principles of the K-pop industry, consistant training, discipline, teamwork, and the relentless pursuit of improvement. Our performances are designed to move people, blending tight teamwork with expressive detail so the audience can feel the energy, emotion, and message of each piece. At MKDC, we value work ethic as much as talent, and we build our team through consistent practice, growth mindset, and mutual support. We see our role as a cultural bridge, bringing K-pop performance to U.S. audiences in a way that is energetic, respectful, and accessible.

MKDC has a long track record of performing and partnering across both entertainment and cultural spaces. We have collaborated with major brands and industry partners including HYBE and Meta Oculus, Kakao Entertainment, MUSINSA Global, DJI, Aland USA, and Mall of America. We have also worked directly with K-pop artists and companies through promotions and collaborations, including BTS, P1Harmony, AMPERS&ONE, NOWADAYS, Wonder Girls, Oh My Girl, Crayon Pop, Kingdom, Great Guys, and others, alongside partners such as Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles, Studio PAV, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea. In Minnesota, we have been invited to bring K-pop performance into prominent cultural venues, including guest performances with the Minneapolis Institute of Art and partnerships with community organizations to host Korean culture programming.

Alongside performances, MKDC actively contributes to the growth of the K-pop community through events, workshops, and talent development. We have organized and served as judges for the KBS Changwon K-pop World Festival USA Midwest Preliminaries, and we have hosted or supported auditions and educational programming, including collaborations connected to PNation, MODHAUS Entertainment and K-pop academy style training. We have also traveled for guest performances and dance workshops, including programs connected to Korean cultural organizations and universities.

MKDC’s performance quality has been recognized through national-level competition results and major stage opportunities. Our team has earned top placements across KBS K-pop World Festival regionals, including overall first-place finishes, and we have achieved USA Champion recognition at the K-pop Cover Dance Festival, with additional top placements by both our girl and boy teams. MKDC was also featured during the 2018 MNET Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in Japan during a BTS award moment, reflecting the visibility our work has reached within global K-pop spaces. Locally, MKDC placed 3rd in the Minnesota State Fair Talent Contest in 2019, and we continue to build stages that connect with wide public audiences.

Today, MKDC performs, teaches, and produces community-driven K-pop experiences with a clear mission: deliver high-impact, family-friendly performances, raise the standard of K-pop stage craft in the U.S., and create a welcoming place where people can grow through hard work, discipline, and teamwork.
